Biography
Armenian baritone Gevorg Ginosyan completed his Master's degree in Classical Vocal Performance at the Komitas State Conservatory of Yerevan in 2022. During his studies, he collaborated closely with the Youth Opera Program of the Armenian National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet and the Yerevan Opera Studio, where he performed both complete and selected operatic roles. His repertoire included Papageno (Die Zauberflöte, Mozart), Belcore (L'elisir d'amore, Donizetti), Dr. Malatesta (Don Pasquale, Donizetti), Figaro (Il barbiere di Siviglia, Rossini), and Marcello (La Bohème, Puccini). During this period, he worked with the theatre's principal conductors as well as distinguished guest conductors and also appeared in concert performances with the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra.
Since 2022, Ginosyan has been based in Germany, where he has continued his artistic development. In 2024, he performed the title role in Mozart's Don Giovanni at the Vienna Opera Festival in the historic Ballsaal venue and later appeared in a concert performance at Mozarthaus Vienna. In the same year, he sang the baritone solo in Carl Orff's Carmina Burana in Wolgast and Bergen auf Rügen. He was also awarded the Giovanni Omodeo Scholarship in recognition of his artistic achievements.
In 2025, he completed a second Master's degree at the University of Music and Theatre Rostock, graduating with distinction. The same year, he became a prizewinner at the International Singing Competition of the Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg, which led to his engagement as the title character Figaro in Paisiello's Il barbiere di Siviglia at the Rheinsberg Palace Theatre, where he appeared in the 2026 spring and summer festival seasons.
Alongside his operatic engagements, Ginosyan has appeared regularly as a concert soloist, performing major works of the sacred and concert repertoire, including Fauré's Requiem, Brahms' Ein deutsches Requiem, and Orff's Carmina Burana.
His repertoire ranges from the Classical and Bel Canto periods to the Romantic repertoire, with a particular artistic interest in combining vocal refinement, expressive stage presence, and stylistic versatility.
